I concede defeat! I killed perfectly good showgirl hatching eggs.

Well that's it. The peeper is now dead and never pipped. This is the second batch of eggs I've killed by moving them to the "Hatcher of Doom".

I have 4 eggs coming off on 6/2 and I am leaving them right where they are.. let's see if that solves things. They'll just have to hatch around all the rest of the incubating eggs.

If I have the wherewithal I'll do some eggtopsies tomorrow and get pics. I'm not making any promises. I'm just sick about it.

I sold my LG a couple months ago because I was so sick of it! Then last week I bought a bunch of eggs (it was a good deal, I couldn't pass it up!), and already have a full 1588 bator, so today I had to run to TSC and buy another LG, everybody around here only sells the LG's. I just installed a PC fan, so I hope that helps regulate the temp a little.

I'm sorry to hear about your eggs, I hope you other bator does a good job with the next set.

I'm really sorry hun. One good thing that's happened out of all the problems I've had with the LG I have is that my husband has promised me a Sportsman or Dickey for Christmas.

I hope you have a better hatch next time.

Sorry you lost them Insider.

Once again however we have gone from an opportunity to learn
better hatching to a 'let's all bash the LG" thread.

I've used my LGs as hatchers many times and know a lot of people
who use them also as hatchers with excellent results.

Temp and humidity stability are KEY. Opening the hatcher only once
after day 18 is another BIG problem. I've wasted hatches in my
$500 Brinsea by not practicing good techniques.

Don't quit and when you are ready to try again keep a thread going.
PM me when you are at day 16 or so I can try and help.

LG are bad!!! but better than my hand-made ones

I've never lost a hatch on a LG, never ever! but regulating the temp. and humidity is aweful! I think I just have good luck on them
