I have inherited my first flock of chickens! My son-in-law purchased the chicks 2 years ago from a mail-order hatchery. He got a "budget assortment" and apparently wasn't given the breed names. Thank you in advance if you can identify any of these lovely ladies (and one gentleman)!

Thank you! My SIL calls #2 (Rose) a Black Copper Maran. Is that the same as a Black sex link? Apologies if that sounds like a dumb question. I'm doing my best to get up to speed in All-That-Is-Chicken, but there's SO MUCH INFO!! And yes, #1(Missy) does have yellow legs

No, it's not. Looking back on it I agree with her being a marans. A sex link is a cross breed that allows you to tell gender at hatch.
