Welcome to my world! I went from sane and normal to crazy chicken lady in just a couple of weeks. I hang out on BYC so I can talk chicken without all the eye rolling.

This is my first experience in raising and caring for chickens and I have loved every minute of it. From seeing them grow up in just a short time of four months. To watching all there different personalities. All together we have ten Different kids of hens from Silkies, Langshans, Brahmas, Turkens, Cuckoo Marans, Rhode Island Reds, Blue Andalusions, Buff Orphingtons, Silver Laced Wyandotte and one Roo who is a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and also a tom Turkey. My favorite has been Devlynn our Light Brahma. She has the sweetest personality. She comes to us like a dog. She would rather be with us then with the other hens. I think she thinks we are her flock. She tries to escape through the fence when she sees us coming to let them out and free range.
Are you kidding Your name said is it bad to watch chickens its awesome to observe Chickens. I do the same thing when it is warm out!

I share chickens with Cheryl and do all the hard labor hehehe!!!! But I love watching all of the birds today is their first day of snow and they are very weary of getting out in it, our buff orpington hen though seems to be doing just fine though. My rooster Leroy looks so awesome as he sits and watches through the coop door...

You should make yourself a chicken page for your flock. I only recently figured out how and I have been on BYC for a little while now.

Just went out to check the hens, rooster and turkey. The two little ones were outside playing in the snow and talking to each other, Too cute!!!!!!

I *love* the idiot birds no matter how much trouble they are (and right now they are quite a lot since we got 4/5 roosters in the hatch-batch!) and have given up trying to figure why. Perhaps some of us are born to become "the crazy chicken lady". Family luckily tolerant of wife/mama wandering around the back yard clucking lovecalls to the galliforms. If South Austin wasn't the place it is I'm not sure where we could live!

When the chick were younger I use to run around and chase them and Yell " I'm a hawk " I was trying to teach them to run from it. It was pretty comical.
