i'll tell my chickens to call your chickens! so far one everyday, and it turns out it was Nellie, a RIRxRIW that is laying. everyday at 11:32 a.m. like clockwork. today's egg was huge! they get bigger everyday. it was bigger than a large size from the store!

hey, free food is super exciting...i hope i never lose that feeling! life less ordinary!

Free food is the best and even more speical when you can have enough to share...
I had hard boiled a couple of store bought eggs drew a ? on each and put them in a couple of the nesting boxes. Sorta like seed eggs, 3 days later we got our 1st home grown egg.

Our chickens are almost 4 months... Is that too early for them to start laying?

Congrats on all your eggs! That must be wonderful. How were those omelettes?

some breeds lay at 17 weeks and up to 28 weeks according to books etc. prolly depends on what kind of chickens

had a HUGE honking egg this afternoon big as jumbo size! oh la la!

Thanks the omelet was great!

I have been told any where from 4 to 8 months depending on the type of chicken as was stated. Just remember to toss out the seed eggs after they start to lay I toss ours after I got the second egg. :thun smelly if it blows.
