🤢 oh dang!!!

that was a very informative read but hot dang ... some of those things, heck most of those things were horrible horrible horrible!!!

I've paid good money for what turned out to be infertile eggs, I've paid good money for eggs of one breed/species and was sent infertile eggs of a different breed, once I bought hatching eggs for laying hens and the seller thought he'd do me a solid by including a few 'fighting cock' eggs ... I did once purchase eggs, Cornish eggs all of which hatched without assist but half the chicks had deformed or curled feet ... the chicks seemed otherwise strong and healthy, I was fixing to cull them immediately because I have to much else going on to tend to chicks with special needs ... a buddy of ours took all the chicks and raised them until they were large enough for butcher ... he said they tasted fine ... thanks to your read, I NOW KNOW what was wrong with them!!!

I agree that the parent stock was either in-bred, nutritionally deficient, or carrying a disease. Unfortunately it's hard to know for sure.
Definitely sanitize your incubator and dispose of the dead chicks and egg shells safely.
Hopefully all of the live chicks will be ok!

I’m not sure on how to move forward from this. Without being 100% sure and curtain on what they have whether it be a disease, virus or vitamin deficiency’s. They might just have something that will hurt my other birds. Should I cull them ? Keep them and just isolate them ? Figure out where I can have them tested to know for sure. It’s stressful that’s for sure 🥱

I'd be willing to be it is a combo of parent stock issues, temp and shipping issues. I would not stress about disease so much.

Are the ones that lived thriving?
