Yes there’s 4 but 2 of them have curled toes They can walk just fine but their toes will be like that forever.

Honestly unless you're showing or planning to breed for sale, I wouldn't give a flip about curled toes. Just my 2 cents. I have a few birds with curled toes from one reason or another and you wouldn't notice unless you actively looked at their feet

Yes that’s one issue. They are supposed to be greenfire farms bloodline of marans. And with that I wanted to have a smal flock to breed and sell but with this little problem I don’t think it’s a good idea to breed them and have more hatch like this …

Dispose of those chicks and the egg shells as you would a biohazzard. Your e-Bay lady may have a flock that carries lymphoid leucosis and those chicks could be a result of vertical transmission of the virus.

I had no idea LL could cause this during incubation as well. You learn something everyday. Thank you for sharing this with everyone!

I looked it up in my bird journal. I hatched 9 Black Copper Marans from them on May 22, 2019. They were all healthy, mostly mean nasty boys though. I decided to go with Blue Marans and sold the hens a long time ago.

Curled toes are easy to fix with some painters tape. After just 3-4 days the tape comes off and the toes are normal.

Deformities like this are often a result of improper temps during incubation (either very low or very high). Did your incubator fluctuate at any point? Do you have a secondary way of seeing the temps? So sorry for the bad hatch.

And now I’m terrified I’ve ruined my eggs
