I am now on day 20 and think that I may go insane waiting for the eggs to hatch. So if i set them on Fri night, I know that I don't count Fri so should I expect pipping in the morning, evening, or just whenever they decide? I am not going to be home for most of the afternoon/evening will they be okay?
Here is my drunk chickie? Is it normal for the chickie to stumble around?

why is there a small pile of yolk in the incubator?

They'll be okay. If you have a turner in your incubator of course you would turn it off. Chickies don't need much of anything for a little while after they hatch, except to be warm and comfortable so they can rest.

Shucks, if they were at a hatchery they would get packed up and shipped through the mail to their new owners!

What YOU need is a stiff drink and someone to hold your little hand, Mama.

Hello! (I am new to the forum) I have a little silkie sitting on 6 Columbia/Barred Rock eggs- day 21!! I am so excited, I can't stay out of there!

Oh my goodness- A little black & white chick has hatched!!! Now I am just wondering how long the window can be between the hatching of eggs in a clutch. There are 4 remaining (one must have broken somewhere along the line). I wonder how long I should wait before removing any remaining unhatched eggs.

Everyone is so friendly~ I think I could get quite comfy here! I tried to get a pic of the one chick, but mama was not so cooperative!
