Yeah it sucks but snakes DO eat chicks and quail, it a pretty common thing to be fed to snakes. There's also a couple breeds of snakes that prefer to eat birds. I know we all love chickens, but she loves her snake. Everything has to eat. I don't agree with feeding live, but not everyone feels the same way and that's just life. It sucks to US becuase we love chickens. But I also love my snake, and would feed him whatever he has to eat (preferably not live). Lot of the big snakes eat large roosters because they're cheaper to buy than large rabbits.
So... Yeah I have no idea what point I'm trying to make, I'm just rambling because I love snakes. She SHOULD feed it rats, but chicks are a common food source also. Sorry.
