I have to talk POLISH!

The egg in the middle is the one I think is Einstein's. My silkie lays a tiny egg compared to this egg. I was expecting Einstein's egg to be small like the silkie egg. Poor little Einstein.

i have two hens/gold laced-bearded and non. i can never tell if they are laying or not. they have to be 8 months now. every once in awhile there will be a smaller white egg in with my others. i do have a white leghorn that lays large/jumbo white egg, so i'm guessing that the smaller white egg is one of them laying. i don't have anybody else that lays white eggs, i do have others in with them they are red prodcutions, i have been able to figure out/mostly who lays what.

so am i thinking correctly? the smaller white egg is one of them laying. with the bearded there is no way that you can see wattles, the other she has some but they are tiny and barely pink...what do you think?

Do the Crele Polish gave any auto sexing potential?
I am looking to switch to all auto sexing, and I really like my Polish. I have just had a hard time getting hens. Are the Crele as poor eggs layers as the rest?

I don't know about the Creoles, but my bantam Polish crank out eggs like crazy

I read that the hen determines sex, and I have found this to be true in all of the breeds of chickens I work with. When I find a hen that produces mostly female offspring, she is a keeper for sure

I can't speak for other peoples projects, but my project line of crele polish are not auto-sexing. However, my goal is to create an auto-sexing line and I think it can be accomplished. I do expect it to take several generations.

Regarding poor eggs layers. I have been very pleased with the production of all my polish, including the Creles. I have 13 different breeds and the Polish and Orps are my best winter layers, and they have the highest production now. I am also pleased that Polish rarely go broody. The egg size in medium but production is always reasonable.

I'd say you have a polish egg there.

I would love to get some of the Crele Polish. I am in Calif too. I could arrange a trip to pick up eggs. I think we would get some Cream Legbars too. We have a trio now. My thought was to cross the two, then select for productivity, crest, white eggs and auto sexing. And work up to a auto sexing crele Polish. That color pattern seems to have the highest likely hood of auto sexing.

Any thoughts? Anyone else working on auto sexing Polish?
