I have to talk POLISH!

Speaking of clueless on the gender, here are my quirky looking tweens! Joy and Goldie have more of the mohawk thing going, where Callie seems to have a nice curving helmet still. Praying at least ONE turns out to be a girl!!!

It's still really too soon to tell and the poor quality tops on Joy and Goldie, you're not going to be able to sex by crest. The only Polish I had that had a Mohawk was a mix. Are these purebred? Where did you get them? Callie looks to have a nice crest, but I'm leaning towards boys on all of them, by the way the crest leans back and on Callie, is longer in the back. But again, they're not even fully feathered so don't get disappointed yet. Show us pictures again in a couple of weeks. You said they were teenagers but not exactly how old they are. Hopefully someone else will jump in and give their opinion.

thanks guys, they will be 4 weeks on tuesday. :)

i hope at least one is a girl. they are from cackle hatchery. (crackle cackle?) I bought them at a feed store that orders all of their chicks from them. :)

they are still lovely, and callie is SO friendly!!

Well with most of my chicks, I put my hand in the brooder and they all run like heck. My last 3 batches of Polish, when I put my hand in, they come look at it, when I pull my hand out they chase it!

One of my chicks has spraddle leg. I'm treating with 1/2 a bandaid. She gets around okay, but sleeps alot. When she's awake, she's active. Gosh, another thing to worry about!

I'm just getting into birds and I have RIRs and Silkies but I would love to get a couple Polish. How would you recommend I go about that? Would it be best to try and find a local breeder so I know Ill get good quality? I might be looking to show in the future so quality is definitely something Ill be looking for.

Such an exciting weekend. Had a show yesterday and we had 3 birds on champion row. My wc chocolate polish pullet (best AOCCL) white Cochin (best feather leg) cock and our call duck (best bantam duck then also champion water fowl. ) This is what the kids brought home yesterday Also I had 18 SQ bantam polish and 3 pencil rocks hatched!
