Have had an egg explode toward the end of hatch.
! The smell is so gross. It exploded on both unhatched eggs and just hatched chicks. We did have more eggs hatch and I tried cleaning the chicks. They still smelled bad. Was worried momma hen wouldn't accept them. I was told chickens don't smell, so I gave her the chicks. She raised them just fine. These egg were under the broody hen and when some chicks started hatching she wouldn't leave the nest, so we took the rest of the eggs. That is why they ended up in the bator. Just glad it didn't end up exploding in the nest with momma and the rest of the chicks.
