I just told my daughter to steal a sick rooster!!! Pic Heavy!!!

I am so sorry that she passed away...Treating multiple illiness in chickens can get to the best of us.....

We drove up to the mountains and found a beautiful sunny spot in the trees to lay her to rest. I know my heart will mend, but it hurts pretty bad right now. My goodness, it is amazing how we can so instantly love a tender thing in our lives. GOD BLESS YOU ALL for your love and support and advice and your wide shoulders to cry on.

Butterscotch continues to do well. We will dust her for mites either tonight or first thing in the am. I just need a little break from the chicken ICU. We are going to sit on the sofa and watch some sweet lite movies. But the view from the couch without her is sad.

I just got online and saw that she has passed away. I'm really sorry for that. I am so glad that she got the dignity to die in a warm, dry, clean place surrounded by love. I hope your heart heals soon.

The more dependant they are on you/us, the more it seems to hurt. You/we seem to feel like we let them down. Good for you for make her warm and comfortable in her last moments. DO NOT spend a second 2nd guessing yourself, nothing you did made it worse. She was on this road and you gave her love in her last moments.

I agree. She had too many problems, Jean, and was probably just too weak. She at least was warm and had some good food in her at the end of her too-short life. So, please, do not second guess anything you did for her. I'm just glad she didn't pass away in that cold cage in her own filth, not feeling warm and cared-for. You did fine.
