I really don't know what to think about the buff it's like a fluffy fat ball of feathers on legs 🤣

In my (limited) experience, Buff Orps are slow developers and Sussex are fast developers.
So a bit of comb on a young Buff Orp means its probably a cockerel but on a SS it could well be a pullet.

Thank you for your reply.

I'll be a little sad if the buff is a boy but we might try and keep him.

If one of the SS then they'll be sent back but it'll save me a lengthy journey if they are pullets!

I could very well be wrong, so hopeful they will all be hens!

I keep going and looking in the brooder trying to see a change but hoping I don't see a change🤣

My daughter keeps telling me I have to call them girls so I manifest my desired sex. She's utterly convinced they are all pullets.

I'm not sure manifesting is working.....

It's been a few days since I posted some photos so here are the updates.

I'm still not sure what to think. They are 6 weeks.

SS1 - the comb has gotten bigger, the photos show some pinking.

SS2 - comb growth has slowed or stalled. I don't see much change.

Buff Orp - this one really had me stumped. Does the rump look strange? There is pinking to the comb and wattles.

Argh.....this is painful 😂 @Overo Mare I don't suppose you fancy hazarding a guess now they are over 6 weeks?

Non of them have shown any overt Roo or pullet behaviour. They are all pretty chill, letting us stroke them, using our arms for perches etc. By now our previous Roos have been squaring up to each other and the pullets would become more wary of us.
