agree with the others who said no to the goldfish. goldies are very high maintenance because they grow fast and produce a lot of waste. they must be in highly filtered tanks with proper stocking levels.

NO Goldfish...

goldfish need a MINIMUM of 10 gallons per fish...
doesnt matter how small the goldfish is when you buy it 10 gallons minimum, they are very messy and grow increidbly large (fish do NOT only grow to the size of their tank...thats a myth, however most goldfish never see mature sizes because there crammed into spaces that are too small, goldfish CAN live 50+ years...)
they are also social and do best with at least 1 companion, wich means 20 gallons realy is the minimum for keeping goldfish...
preferably larger!
not to mention the filtraton needed for them.

for your little bown the ONLY fish id say could comfortably live in there would be a betta fish.
its still small realy for a betta, i prefer a min of 5 gallons for them...but 1 gal is common for bettas and they can live good long lives if properly cared for in that size tank.
you will potentially need to add a small heater (they make betta bowl heaters) as bettas require warmer temps, youll either need to do dAiLY small water changes or make a make shift filter for t and do weekly water changes...

keepign fish isnt just a case of bowl of water add a fish and tada im done.
PLEASE do alot more research before bringing your fish home, keeping fish is actually a lesson in creating a carefully balanced eco-system!

if you got a goldfish it would just die after a short time goldfish produce alot of wastes and need atleast 20 gallons per facy goldfish and 30 per common (feeders) for a tank that size you could get about 2 male guppies,or you could skip fish and get a couple of ghost or amano shrimp a betta or 2 tetras.

i LOVE guppies i LOVE breeding guppies its so awsome to see what you can get and they are really freindly little fish! when i had all my guppy tanks i just loved putting my hand into the tank (clean hands) and they delighted in swimming ni and out of my hands and fingers nibbling at them and all. i had to train my goldfish to investigate my hands but not my guppies

Goldfish need at least 10 gallons per fish, and they cause very large ammount of amonia, so you would have to clean the tank almost daily.

I wouldn't get goldfish. I have had them in the past and they are really messy. I had 2 goldfish in a 50 gallon tank and I couldn't keep up with the mess anymore. I ended up bringing them back to the petstore. In my opinion, goldfish belong in ponds...not tanks.

ive got 4 fancy goldfish in an 80 gallon tank to keep it clean you need 10x the filtration so for a 10 gallon tnak to hold one goldfish you would need a filter that filters 100 gph. i have 2 penguin bio wheel filters (each doing 400 gph) plus a whisper 30 filter. PLUS i make sure to not ovre feed AND i do 90 percent water changes every week. and please dont tell me that its bad to do large water changes for some tropicals yes for goldfish no i talk to experts everyday on kokos goldfish forum
