They were restraining themselves from laughing out loud listening to her long monologue.

Sprucetail was neglecting his duty on watching Droppaw, so he took advantage of the moment. Silently slipping his slim red and white frame between the trees, he could have been taken right out of a scene in a cheesy old spy movie, if the music was appropriate.
He grinned and chuckled to himself and showed way too many teeth. There was his sister, Galepaw, chatting unaware of what was about to happen.
He stealthily snuck behind, and POUNCED on top of her.


(In camp in the nursery)
Darkkit attacked Lightkit with a weak feign and pounce.
Jadeheart squealed with delight. "Oh, goodness they're ADORABLE." She told Emberfeather. She expanded her big green eyes to what were incorrectly described as "puppy dog eyes" though an adult cat can do them just as well. They said 'caniholdonepleasecaniholdonetheyaresoooocute.'

He let himself gently tumble off her back.
"You know, a warrior's gotta be alert at all times. Gotta pay attention to your surroundings," he said in a scholarly voice.
"So, what is new with you?" He asked. "I've been worried about Honeypaw so much I forgot all about my other sister. So I'm going to make it up and spend a day with you!"

That would be great! But first...Lets settle this! WHY have you come here, Evil Rouge Cat! Her claws sheathed, she batted at her brother with soft paws. "You were like one of those detectives from those old spy movies!" She exclaimed. The other apprentices joined in, and they all started battling each other like kits playing in the nursery. They spilled right into the camp entrance. But their play was brought to a screeching halt as Galepaw tumbled right at the feet of.....
TANGLEPELT!

Tanglepelt looked at them, a look of thunder on his face. "HA! rollin' around like nursery kits are ye? Maybe you ought to behave like apprentices and clean out my bedding and do my ticks!"
Galepaw took one look at him and said in a barely audible but extremely powerful voice:

Rustpaw's heart did flips and butterflies probably played a game of tag in there.
"Umm, I, er, I like you... more than just a friend too." Rustpaw felt as if he had just one a battle against a rival clan when he confessed his feeling for Flamepaw.
 
Just in time, Finchstripe came up.
"Hey, Tanglepelt! Good to see ya out and about camp! How about we go to the elder's den? I can change your bedding. Now tell me about the time..."
Finchstripe motioned with her a flick of her tail to scram. Galepaw didn't have to be told twice! "C'mon!" she told the others. "To the apprentice den!"
