my partner of 12 years was recently diagnosed with leukemia, during her 1st round of chemo she needed 6 units of platlets, and 6 units of red blood cells. she will need more during her 2nd round comiing up in a week--so to all who have donated---- thank you, you are helping to save her life.

I received a blood transfusion at 8 months old. I use to give every 2-3 months (figured I better give back) until I went to vet school...now I'm anemic from all the stress...guess I'll have to wait until I'm done and start back up again.
