Actually, with about 75% of our visitors on mobile these days (which doesn't really have a "mouseover element), it probably wouldn't make much of a difference.

One think I'm wondering is if the entire name/text should be clickable and link to the quoted post?

Not sure what would make a difference....regardless of device,
either people get how to use a forum.... or they don't<shrugs>

I'm not sure I understand. A "mouseover" only works with a mouse, and the majority of peeps on BYC are not using a mouse.

Well right now clicking on the quoted text expands the box. Would we lose that feature by adding the new one?

Nope, we definitely would keep the click-to-expand functionality for the quote itself
