Maybe I should have learnt the first or second time. It seemed like a good idea to put the chicks on the mantelpiece to photograph them. When the first one pooped on my mantelpiece I thought it was bad luck.
Then the second one pooped as soon as I set it down.
I wasn't prepared for #3 though. She is about three weeks old. I put her up there, willing her not to poop on the mantelpiece, and she didn't.
Instead she took a flying leap and (luckily) landed on my shoulder. Then I heard the awful splurt noise. She pooped all down my shirt and in my hair. So guess who just took a shower
