I just ordered the Fish Zole online and requested fastest possible shipping. I believe we have just a couple of specialty fish stores between here and Houston. I will check first thing in the morning to see if there is anywhere semi-local that I can drive to get it.

ok so, iwas wrong it is hard to get that pic without help. I was able to get a pretty good look inside and I took a video but it was too long for me to post . his mouth and throat is full of yellow and gray mucusy stuff his nose his nostrils are clogged up now, I cleaned them and it was yellow stuff like boogers. When He breathes it sounds like he's got a terrible cold

It can be hard to know for sure if the problem is a respiratory disease or canker. I hope he can wait for the Fish Zole. Some pet stores sell a powder form called API General Cure for fish, but make sure that it has metronidazole on the label. If you can see a vet, they might be able to help or prescribe metronidazole today. Other respiratory diseases, such as coryza, can sometimes cause think gunk inside the palate and throat and sinuses.

ha! where are my kids when I need them? I'll see if I can figure that out but I did just find a PetSmart that carries the API General cure for fish so I'm on my way to pick it up hopefully it'll be the right thing

this API General Cure is 250 mg of Metronidazole and 75 mg Praziquantel in powder packs. what would be the best application?? mix w water in syringe? Its kind of a lot of powder for a little guy

I mixed the powder with a little greek yogurt thinking that maybe he would like it a little better or accept it the next time I'll use water instead, because the yogurt was kind of thick and stayed in his mouth while he looked at me with shock because obviously it tasted so bad. I was hoping it would be tasteless but it's not. I tasted it because honestly I wouldn't put something in my pets that I wouldn't put in myself and it taste like ground up aspirin. Yuck! If my little man gets better and makes it I hope he forgives me for all this torture.
