Thanks! They are addictive little things. :D

How’s Gandolf doing 0ow?
Gandolf has his bright red comb back, he's walking around talking away...he's a very chatty little man. He's very verbal but hadn't been while he was sick. He loves talking the whole time he's walking around pecking and socializing. His mouth is cleared up and seems to be almost back to himself except he paces back and forth looking up at his roost at bedtime like he's scared he can't make it to the top or he's had some lingering weakness. I put him up on one of the roosts but his regular roost where his group is at one bar above, he didnt seem that he was confident he could make it.
...and just fyi friends , my typing gets terrible at night because my eyes get extremely tired. I read my texts for last night and was embarassed at the terrible writing and punctuation.

you have no idea how happy I am to hear about the Serama rooster. Its the the first time I ever had empathy for someones chicken on BYC. I usually see chickens as livestock but since having Seramas of my own I see them so much differently. I was so sad reading about him and his problems and now I am feeling so good to hear he is doing better.

How’s Gandolf doing now?
he fits in the palm of my hand, I have small hands and he'll sit there forver. I handle my babies everyday from birth/hatch so they're relaxed and social with me. they become inprinted on me, I get attached then I cant part with them.

it is amazing how your feelings change about chickens when you spend time with them and see their different personalities. You start seeing them like people and once you name them, you're hooked.
I have never had Fox, just dogs, Cats, and Raccoons. And some missing hens I believe were carried off by hawks but no way to tell for sure. Saw a Hawk swoop down and almost touch down today, the chickens I have with free range privileges were all hiding in the shrubs when it took place. Now I can tell when where to put obstacles to make it harder for

Chicken hawks are my biggest problem.

I have been there before but I was going to wait until I successfully bred Seramas before I became a regular there. I just candled my eggs in the incubator, none of my Seramas look fertile. But all my other project eggs are looking good.

I also go to the West Virgina thread since that is where I want to move to after getting out of NC.
