One of my black austrolorps use to crow when she was little, like 5 weeks old. It was very faint, but a definite crow. She was in with two cockerels - who did not crow. Lol - one of the cockerels (a buff) actually popped out with a super red comb and super red waddles at 3 weeks old. He use to sleep with his head tucked behind and under his wing. (I have read on this forum that only girls sleep that way.) And he use to snore. Yes, SNORE.
They are older now. My girl doesn't crow that I hear. Only the loud mouth older rooster that is with them. As for the boy snoring - I dunno if he still does or not, but he still tucks his head under sometimes.
The crowing could be a girl just practicing her momma yelling voice for when she has kids. (Or it could be a rooster. None of my guys were belting out crows at 5 weeks to 5 months.)
