I Want To Thank You Chick Sexer!

I've had many sexed chicks over the years that were supposed to be pullets and somehow turned into roosters a few months later. But raising them from chicks, can't help but to love them. Had six roosters, gave one away, a beautiful RIR that I visit sometimes. Still have five, three bantams.

Yah, that's a lovely lady you got there! haha Do you still have him?

Egg Bandit- I live in the county, not the city limits, so I can have roosters! It's just a matter of the neighbors. I only have a couple neighbors that might possibly be affected by crowing. Maybe I'll give it some time. When he starts making noise, maybe I'll just walk over and ask them if they can hear him or not. The houses are kinda built on hills, not level with each other, and have a lot of plantings around. It may not be an issue.

If he gets mean, he's gone IMMEDIATELY. I have 3 little ones. Can't have that business.

The feed store where I got him said that if any of the chicks turned out to be roos, they'd rehome for free, so I have an out. It's just that I love the guy!

Minnie, silkies are adorable but I don't think our situation is conducive to them. I need relatively hardy birds that are good in mucky wet, winter freezes, & summer heat waves. (Pacific NW) But they sure are cute with those adorable 'bangs'!!!

Thanks for the input folks!

Maybe the neighbors won't be bothered by his crowing. I know I like the sound, makes me feel all cozy. DH says I'm weird, but I think he likes it too.

I bought 5 EE's from our feed store a few years ago. Four of the Five turned out to be "HE" pullets. I waited a VErrrryyyy Long time for them to give me Eggs.

One turned out to be NASTY MEAN. Two others we rehomed just because that was too many. We kept one and still have him - - - no problem with him ! !

One time some dummy messed up my friends order. He had his own "Hatchery" and could sex chicks with a Blood DNA Thingy. Well he didnt know how apparently, because he didnt know which meant girl and which was boy and took a lucky guess. My friend got 11 Roosters and 1 Hen.
