I Woke Up With A Mouse In My Bed

* Draven used to catch a mouse, go running into the bathroom, jump into the tub with it and swat at it, sending the mouse for a spin around the corners of the tub just like a racecar on a banked track. He'd keep that up as long as the mouse lasted. Weird cat. . .

I remember when we were having problems with mice, I was soaking a bowl in the sink and came downstairs to find one drowned in the bowl. Yuck.

A dead mouse in bed with me would have me sleeping on the couch with the light on. The mattress would be burned and the cat would NEVER go outside again, if it survived.

My sister, who lives in Alaska, had a cat that would bring the live mice inside to play with. It was ever so much warmer and more fun play with the heat on. I don't think my three cats could ever get a mouse, they were frightened of the chickies when they were in the house.

There was another one this morning, believe it or not. This one was on the floor. 4am. I turned on the light because my cat was making noise, and there it was, her dead playtoy.

Made DH throw it out. Couldn't sleep for hours afterwards

dangerouschicken,

It's been a good day. Maggie only brought in 2 laaaarge grasshoppers, today. I flushed one that I found on the bathroom rug and she's still playing with the second. (The chickens are already in bed

My cat use to bring them into our bed ALIVE!
I woke up one night to feel her playing and jumping all over my bed, I knew that wasn't right in the middle of the night.
I flipped the light on and I saw a mouse run under the pillow where my son was sleeping ( he use to sneak into our bed in the middle of the night when he was little) so I started screaming that there was a mouse in the bed and my groggy husband was trying to catch it, so was the cat and I had grabbed my little guy and ran out of the room.
Another night, I woke up to hear blood curdling screams from the bedroom my girls share.
I was terrified, I could not imagine what was happening at 2:30 a.m. to make them scream that way.
So when I get upstairs they tell me, one daughter was sleeping but heard little squeaking that she thought was from our cat, so she called the cat up on the bed to snuggle and was patting it when she realized something was squeaking not meowing and yelled, the cat dropped the mouse onto my daughter's chest, she is screaming, my other daughter turns on the light , she starts screaming and the cat grabs the mouse, jumps off the bed and onto my other daughter who is sitting on the edge of her bed and drops it in her lap and it slid down her leg.
Now we are all running around trying to catch it, there was no way they would sleep with that thing still in the house.
Another time, we found one "dead" on the floor and my husband took it out and threw it over the fence, it landed in a snow bank.
When he went out later it was gone, and you could see the little imprint of its body.
There were no other marks in the snow where an animal might have gotten it, the mouse must have been playing dead or something and run off.
Oh the joys of cat ownership.
