i thought my daughter was taking the mick whem she told me her cochins were bantams now i know different. Wow beautifull birds and so big did you say they still got growing to do. How big do they get?

Sootsie I did say they are still growing, kind of hard to imagine! I am actually not sure how much they weight but believe it or not they are under weight, their keel is on sharp side. The mom and dad chickens that they were bred from were almost double their size, so they will get considerably bigger.
I can't wait to see how big the eggs are!!

They are amazing and beautiful!
I am surprised how much they look like Black Australorps but with fluffier feet. They share that greenish purple hue to the black feathers.
They are a marvelous addition to your family!

We have the same doormat!
My Japs are half the size of our juvie Silkies. Poor Silkies don't realize they can just sit on the Japs, so they get bossed around, lol.

They only lay a medium egg. Especially compared to the size of the chickens their eggs are small.
