IA here

Thank-you for contacting her and btw, the gal who contacted me was Kim from around Marshalltown. She wanted 4 month olds. Just to make sure it is the same one who is looking. Thanks for the info too on the eggs. I have been seeing $1.50 to $2.50.

No problem, glad to help. If we have any hens for sale, they will be pet quality only. Hope that's ok. We're keeping the good ones for breeders.

I don't know exactly the quality she is looking for she just responded to my ad for selling eggs. I am hoping to get some egg customers in Des Moines, Adel, Winterset area for when I have excess eggs. I was going to be working in DM a couple days this week and was going to bring in eggs.

Trish - it wasn't the puppy it was his dad. He has been in a frenzy for weeks because of all the squirrells in the black walnut tree he can't reach, so I think then he gets to chasing anything that moves. My husband let him out of the garage and I think tomorrow I am going to start reworking with him in the "chicken yard". Harleyjo feel free to stop buy and tell him what a naughty dog he was since you will be in Des Moines.

Lisa - I like the name Ozy but it's not quite right. I have been watching a show called Wallander on PBS Masterpiece Mystery. It is set in Sweden and I like some of the names on that show. Might go with Swedish names for them. It will come to me.

iluvmichickens!

Are you IN cedar Rapids? I know you can have them in town now, but haven't heard of too many people taking advantage of it.

You never know where I will end up in Des Moines, I could just do that!

I can't believe I have not gotten any emails about eggs. I am sure it will just take time to find the right people who want them.

Stupid question. What exactly does double coop mean on a show entry form? I'm thinking it's for 2 birds to be in the same coop but am unsure. Still deciding exactly which birds I'll show. I never thought I'd be entering a poultry show. I wanted to show my Araucana roo but the silly hens pulled out his tufts so he'll be staying home since I know that would automatically DQ him and I don't think they would be grown all the way back long and beautiful by then.

I was selling eggs for $1.50 a dozen when I had extras to sale at the Farmers Market.

Ah, lots of good Swedish names: Bjorn, Sven, Matthias, Inga, Birgitte, Olga...

Inga and Isa (sp) were the girls names I had picked out.

Looks like I have two roos - I think I like Bjorn and Sven!

Thanks!
