Oh man if we r doing pics let me know. I normally roll out of bed brush teeth throw kids in van and go. I might brush my hair or something if pics r being done

I will have an Iowa Blue pair with me. The roo is decent but the pullet is small and has some mossiness to her. Sam you should take my red frizzle hen - she is also trying to sit on eggs and my roo is pulling all her feathers out.

Last night I had a little Sussex hatchling with a bad foot. Put a boot on it and when I turned out the lights for the adult birds, I sneaked the bad footed baby under the broody delaware. This morning when I turned the lights on, I check and she had pushed the chick out in the cold, I assume rejecting it. Poor thing was stiff and cold, neck twisted back and I was about to toss it in the bin, when I recalled a delivery I recieved in freezing weather and all but 3 of the 15 chicks were dead. So I rushed the chick under a heat lamp and started rubbing and coaxing and pushing gently on its abdomen. The chick began to move or so I thought. the beak opened and I began rubbing in vigor. The chick came back! Don't know if I did the right thing but I felt compelled to try. With the 12 dead ones in the order I received, i did the same thing. Only 3 failed to respond.
Now it is sitting up, in a small container in the brooder. One more late bloomer Orloff is just about hatched, so they will be buddies. The the hatch is done.
Moved the Key West chicks to the garage brooder this am we'll see how they do. One of them was starting to fly! I did not want it to fly out and disappear in the basement.

Time to buy more feed again. The only birds I have that are not hogs are the Vorwerks. They are very thrifty drinkers and eaters.
