If Flekka is getting that much attention some of her suitors need to be restricted access.

This is one secondary reason why I prefer only two roosters with the hens. The main reason being I want to limit the studs in the flock. They being hopefully the best of the crop.

Yup, they are very limited as to how much time they have with the ladies. I have been trying to put Flekka in her own apartment during the daytime, partly because I don't want her being harrassed, and partly to encourage the boys to breed with the other two girls (I usually have one cockerel in the pen at a time, but sometimes they get booted out).

I can't think of one off the type of my head, I wouldn't be surprised if there was though. Are you looking into starting a flock of your own?

Possibly. As I have a miniscule budget, I might just be looking for a roo. I still am waiting for the okay by my parents on the roo, so it may be waaaaaaaaay farther down the road.
