Icelandic Chickens

I don't think she is laying yet. She is from my youngest group of juveniles. I have never seen her in the nest box and I am down at the barn a lot!

The thing I like about it is that it is everchanging!! Never the same look two days in a row!!

Mary, That is one gorgeous girl! I'd like to see if she molts out smooth before I'd give up on her being part of the flock (unless you've had others like her and already know that won't happen). I hope Lil Sis has that dark gunmetal gray coloring!! I have only had dark gray boys..

I do have beautiful powder blue/gray Kella though!!

All of the other pullets are a shade of brown/beige with black but are still different from each other.
My two girls have been broody but I have golf balls in my nest boxes all the time.........or maybe they learned it from Chickie Mama!! I can't believe Lukka's daughters aren't broody!!

Hi Dar!! I hope you're not climbing any mounts in that heat!!! We need to see pics of your Icelandics!!

Mary that really is a beautiful pullet, as mine develop I am picking favorites dispite myself. Hard not to, several of the youngest ones leave this week, to an Amish friend at the feed mill. My keepers I am thinking of banding, for year and to pick mine out quickly from the others.

The silver chick is a pullet, a real little lady, growing out the six first ones I saw two very quiet and friendly ones that came up to greet me everytime I opended the door, now I have five in one kennel and 3 in the other.

It looks like Speedy(Skjolnur is a pullet, very little comb, body not as big as the other roos but that could change, only reason to still keep in the running as a roo is the tail carriage. Time will tell, hope it is a pullet, love the color and crest.

Jake, pictures?

Mary......the feathers don't look malformed or anything, so I'd leave her. It is interesting how they curl though. Plus, she's gorgeous And

at Lukka being broody again! Where's the last baby hanging out?

Knowing my luck, since I got mine for broodies, I'll have the only non-broody Icelandics.

Morning all! I keep thinking I will have time to catch up, but no luck so far.

I hope everyone is doing well!
