Mbmess your birds are gorgeous! I'm do jealous you have the outside already! It's -16 celcuis here with the windchill I especially like the last blueish one. I took inventory of my chicks today and noticed the awesome feathering coming in on my Icelandic!!!!! Praying for pullet!

That one is going to be gorgeous!

I have put over 20 Icelandic eggs in my bator last night as a test hatch. Yup, my Icelandics are starting laying well now, getting about 5 eggs from 7 pullets! I like to test hatch on all of my breeds before I start selling the eggs, so that way I know that the chicks are healthy when they hatch, no genetic issues, etc.

Good luck with your hatch! My icees are laying well too, but they are running with a mixed flock so I can't hatch them. Maybe I'll be able to pen a few up for the Easter Hatch assuming there is going to be one.

All of mine are from Sheriff Mary, my rooster I call Isi after Marys; rooster of the same name, his sire, and he is a real look alike. Great attitude, ranges round inspecting his domain and is a real flockmeister. Calls them when there is food and warns them when he thinks it is necessary.

I will start saving eggs when you want, I will be hatching some in May I think, I can send them a dozen at a time so they will be less or barely a week when you get them. Wish you were closer I'd deliver them.

Just let me know when you want to incubate and I will get them to you before then.

I had bad luck with eggs last year, , got several batches but between cold spikes during shipping and a heat spike on my end I only hatched 8 out of 38 eggs, and 2 died in the hatching so got six.

This year changed incubators and got a GOOD thermometer and the incubator will be in a warm basement, in my fishroom, temp stays in mid 70s there.

I'd like to hatch them for Easter if I could. I'm in the middle of shuffling my breeding pens around but I can start collecting for you any time after valentines day if you wish.
