Nope, no more, two pipped, dont know if the one is a new one or no, the one that was pipped from last eve nothing happening, today was supposed to be hatch date so keeping my fingers crossed,

Speedy is all over the place, extreme vitality in this chick, the other still with us, got some mess on its tail I need to soak off. The early pipped one I am going to remove some shell and moisten it on the membrane which looks dried.

Both hatched are chipmunks. Speedy even acts like it. About noon both will go into the brooder with water and starter. Wednesday Kims eggs go into lockdown.

The one that started pipping at the same time as the two hatched is showing activity again, the hole with the membrane was looking dry with more shell cracked around it so I swabbed it lightly with a bit of water on the dry membrane, another one shows more pipping, Speedy is doing laps around the hatcher, the slower one had a bit of membrane hanging from its vent so I sniped that and swabbed it too, I hope it was membrane. We shall see. Noon both go into the brooder, its heating up now. Speedy keeps knocking the other eggs around. Dont need that.

If you open the bator again, move Speedy and his friend to the brooder.

That's why I hatch in egg cartons, the eggs don't get knocked around as much.

Hi Chooks

I am going to as soon as I can get an accurate temp reading in there, that little guy is FAST, or gal, however the case maybe.

The slow pipper is Out !

I am going to the hardware and pick up a couple good thermometers, the Brinsea one isnt here yet.

So far two chipmunks and maybe a third. One was a pullet egg, two VERY thick shells. Some others are too. Couldnt even get a maglight through them. This last one is also from one of the thick shells.

Slowly, slowly, wed is lockdown for another set and the weather was better in the shipping of these last two.

How much does the time & temp during shipping effect the eggs?

I have a dozen coming from Wisconsin to Central TX and she mailed them Saturday via Priority Mail

She didn't realize Priority mail doesn't move on Sundays like express does.
