I took pictures of Kola today and am showing some old ones, too. What's the Icelandic word for mottled?

This isn't a very good picture, but this is from March, 2011.

I did a little remodel on the broody coop Lukka and her babies have been using. Apparently they didn't like it. They moved into the Jail coop and took the spot the Isbar babies use. Now the Isbar babies are up on the top roost crammed in with Frida, Anna, Bjorn and Skye. Lots of pushing and squawking. Then to the right of that crew is two feet of unoccupied roost, then Raven. Nobody wants to come within two feet of her!

I went back outside, turned off the Christmas lights in the broody coop and locked it up! When you move out, don't come back. At least that is what my Mom told me. And hey, it worked! So I no longer have birds outside the three main ccops. That will be a lot less work for me. I just have to remember to fill a low waterer for the babies. The Barnevelders will be two weeks old on Thursday.

You won't be laughing when the post office calls you to come in and pick up your package!

My birds are slackers. I am getting very few eggs. I am sure it is the decreased light time. That and the fact they were so stressed from the hawk attack. They are just now finally beginning to settle down and are less easily startled. If I have Christmas lights.... would that encourage them to lay?

Sheeeeesh! I use 50 pounds of feed a day and get only a dozen or two eggs..... Just not right.
They need to start paying the rent here.
