Ideal customers PLEASE help me with answers!!!!!

Just wanted to say I feel your pain. I ordered some from Meyer that seem to be lost, but am hoping for delivery tomorrow. I hope yours make it to you safely!

Trudy, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I live in SW Arkansas, six hours away from Ideal in Cameron, TX and mine were shipped on April 9th, a Wednesday and didn't arrive till that Friday, the 11th. I lost two in shipping. I don't know if it was because it was still pretty chilly then or because the two DOAs looked smaller and were definitely crushed in the box. You have to realize that even when someone incubates their own at home, there will be chicks that may have enough strength to actually get out of their shell, but not enough strength to live. That may be what happened to my two.
Keep in mind that the people at Ideal are fully aware of the weather conditions, both hot or cold, when they ship chicks. Also, your chicks are not going to be in the heat all the time on their journey. They will be in the A/C of at least one post office along the way. As for food and water, a day old chick doesn't need that anyhow.
Hope you get them tomorrow, but don't freak if you don't.

I live in North central IA and mine were shipped on a wed got them thurs. and they came the week of the floods up here only one arrived dead. I give the po a thumbs up on that one as our mail goes through waterloo and mail was was generally a day or so late. but they got the peeps to Mason City

I ordered from Ideal. I live in Mississippi and it took 2 days to get my order. Shipped on a Weds and arrived on Friday. Both times I have ordered none died.

We live in Colorado. I got 2 orders the fom Ideal over the past 2 weeks. There were 9 chicks in each order. They shipped on Wednesday, and got my healthy babies on Friday. I did call my local post office ahead of time and let them know they were calling. Picked up both orders by 6:30am. I've been very happy with Ideal.

Mine shipped out on a Wed. and I got a call from the post office at 7am on Thurs. I live in NC.

I am in PA and ordered from Ideal twice in the spring.
The first shipment I lost one... and then within the next few days I lost 4 (?) more, yokohomas though, finicky breed! That was due to them being cold... so I don't think you'll have to worry about that.

The second shipment I lost one, only because they others trampled it.

Overall I am extremely pleased with Ideal!

I'm in Ky my order was shipped on Wed and I received them on Fri, just as I was told. Only 1 DOA. I'm quite pleased.

Curious why you didn't cancel the order when they said they prob. wouldn't get there until Fri. and you knew you wouldn't be able to get them Fri.

I hope if that happens, some horrible post office person is able to take care of them until Monday.
