I need anyone who has ordered from Ideal and recieved chicks to please answer a question for me. How many states away from Texas do you live and from the date of your shipping, how many days did it take to get your chicks? My order was supposed to be shipped this afternoon by 3 :00, and when I talked to the assistant this morning, she said to expect them not until thurs. pm or friday am. Now I only live in Arkansas, and they are telling me it will take 2 1/2 days to get to me?????? I am livid and worried sick because I know it is 97 degrees here today and the humidity is crazy, and it is supposed to be even hotter the next 2 days, so if it takes that long they will be dead for sure with no food or water. I told them that if they do not get here until Friday that I am NOT available to get them until Monday, and I explained that to them when I ordered them.. Now I am scared to death that they won't be alive if it takes that long and I have noone that can pick them up for me. Some one please tell me it will not take that long to get here!!!!!!

Hi there,

I ordered from Ideal and I live in a small town in Colorado.
The chicks were shipped on Tue and I didn't expect to get them until Thur, but they arrived Wed morning at the post office.
If I had to guess I would think you would get them the next day.
I don't remember the gals name I talked to or I would give it to you, she was very kind even when I made 2 separate changes.

Keep good thoughts and know we will too!

Hi
Mine shipped on a Wed and arrived on Friday morn. 1 short and two died right when we got them home. I worried as you the entire time.

i live in omaha, ne and mine got here the next day after shipping, all were alive and peeping!! they were hatched the 18th, i got them the 19th and i have all 24 of them still alive

I also live in Colorado. Mine were shipped Wednesday and arrived Thursday. I was told they wouldn't arrive till Friday so I was very pleased to have them come a day earlier.

Mine were all fine and healthy and are doing great at six weeks old now.

I live in MA. They shipped Wednesday afternoon and arrived Thursday morning. In 85+ degree heat and humidity.
All alive and still going strong.

I worried the entire time as well. More about the PO killing them than the heat doing them in

Thank You all sooo much!!! I am feeling a little better knowing most came the next day. I will still worry until I have that box in my hands and get them home safely to the brooder. It is 95 degrees here now and the heat index is over 100 and all I can think of is those poor chickies in a tiny box in this heat! On a good note though, my DH , bless him since we did not have any where for the 4 week olds and the new ones to go outside he built a temporary pen and cut a pop door also for them today ---- even in this heat!!!! He is definately a keeper. I am so blessed. Well thank you all so much for the responses t me, you are the best set of friends , I soo appreciate each and everyone of you . Thanks so much for your help and here is hoping those fuzzy butts make it tomorrow!!!! Trudy
