If egg is still in hen body, will they going to release new yolk from ovary?

Today one of my Hybrid hen goes free range for almost an entire day because I forgot to put her in the coop. And when I put her in the coop, she immediately sit on the nesting box. So I just wondering, can hen release a new yolk in the ovary if there is still an egg in her body?
