If I do not see anything but a big dark area when candling the egg on day 15 does that mean that the

This is what I see...day 13. Most of my eggs look like it. Just a few( very few) look all dark. Those I,m almost sure are developing....but these I think are dead. What you think?

i just tossed 27 eggs that looked like that on day 6/7... mine had 1 stinker too. i think itis a non-starter. my eggs got too hot in shipping.

I've only had one egg like that in the past. The air sacs stay put unless you knock them out of place with some force, but if that happened you would know cause they would be moving everywhere. So the eggs were more than likely laid like that, and it's the hen thats confused. Most likely many will still hatch just fine, though some may need help. Continue on with your incubation, the only thing I would question, is if you should flip your eggs so that they are the pointy end up because you put the pointy end down to aviod stress to the air sac, while your air sacs at the opposite end. Not sure on that one though.
Since you are not sure what to do about the air cell up or down...if you havent had them in long maybe lay them down? Turn by hand 3 times a day...That way no pressure on either end and no guessing.

well mine were attacked by some gorillas at the postal service. I had many broken. My aunt went to pick up the box and told me the employee that gave her the box ask her if they were chickens...my aunt told him they were hatching eggs....an HE SHOOK the box just to make sure they were not live chickens....OMG .. can he really think somebody is sending live chickens in a closed priority box.....I'm expecting the worst hatching experience of my life. this 2 boxes that say hatching eggs recived a good "special treatment". No more identifing whats inside for me.

Roxannemc, I never asked a question. I was just giving my 2 cents. I'm done hatching for the year. And I do hand turn my eggs, I just know that they are stored small end down and etc.. to prevent stress on the air sacs, but their's were on the opposite end, so I just mentioned it, I never had this problem myself.

And wow, I can't believe someone would do that to hatching eggs, or not believe you for that much. If they were alive, they would be chirping away.
