If u could only have 2 hens for eggs what would u choose?

No one has really voted for the Americauna so I just have to make matters even more convoluted. My Americauna is by FAR the best layer of my three girls. That said, I'm new to chickens and have only had these three girls. So who knows what all Americauna's are like.

Your best bet would probably be a chicken that is a known bred laying chicken -- one that DOESN'T go broody!!!

I LOVE my Golden Comets (red sex link). One of my 2 started laying a couple of weeks ago and has layed an egg every day since, right in the nest like a good girl, and this with only 9 hours of light a day. She is amazing. They are also very quiet, sweet little things, and seem a bit brighter than my EEs. Probably my best foragers out of the 2 types I have if that matters to you. They always find the best bugs. I have decided that I will always have to have Golden Comets in my flock.
