If you could only have two breeds, what would they be?

Based on my very limited experience with a measly 4 breeds, I'd have to stick with my EE and sussex (speckled, but if we're only allowed two breeds why limit yourself to just one variety?). Granted, I've only had chickens since July and none of my girls are laying yet. But personality wise, my favorites are the EE and sussex. They're very curious, always coming to see what I'm doing or bringing them, and my one EE harasses my dog (poor boy, I'm not sure he knows what to make of it when she pecks him on his nose...especially while he's peeing!).

If EE weren't an option because they're technically not a breed, I'd have to choose Marans. I haven't tried them and I don't think anyone in my area has them, but they look like they'd make really nice dual purpose birds and the dark eggs would be neat and a nice contrast to the lighter brown sussex eggs. They're on my "short list" for when we win the lotto and buy our dream farm.

well I only have one breed of chickens and that is Bantam Ameraucanas. I want to try some BBS Bantam Faverolles but I don't know but I really liked my buff silkie I had he was soo sweet, but he had a heat stroke this summer. So My top two in the running to be my second breed would be Faverolles and Silkies. So If I had to choose for sure which two I liked the best it would be Bantam Ameraucanas and Silkies because I don't know what Faverolles are like.

This is easy: 1) Easter Eggers, because of the pretty eggs different colors and shades of green. They are fairly sweet natured also.
2) A cochin, braham or polish, this part is harder to decide for me. I like the feathering on the legs and the size of the cochins (I like big chickens) and brahmas. I like the top hats on the polish. So I guess I'll have to create a Top hat (big chicken) with feathered legs. But that would be three or four breeds not two. Oh my, such decisions.

Sumatras, obviously, for show, eggs, and meat and either Bantam Cochins or Seramas as pets. The Sumatras are kinda flighty. I love the Serams and cochins, cause they're cute and cuddly. It would have to be a White Cochin if I were going to swing that way.

FYI there is a faily big breed with foot feathers and a tophat, Sultans. Sultans aren't as big as Cochins or Brahmas, but they are a large breed that has the characteristics you wanted. They also have five toes, vulture hocks, and a V comb. Quite the leftover parts breed if you ask me.
