Most of them were out of Springfield, IL.....there are several might be nearby.

I agree with OSU, they are hard to get a hold of and sometimes a month would go by before I got a response from the nice gentleman in Springfield, the USDA.

The tests said to be FREE but you may end up paying for his gas expenses or meals or a flat fee for HIS time to come up and do your birds. It's the labor you have pay, not the tests.

Sorry I wont be having any Welsummer Bantams this year because I can only have one roo at a time. Right now my goal is to get a couple of daughters out of my CW hen, she is about four years old. I am for sure coming fall, I will have a bantam roo from Nate!

It would be nice if we meet somewhere locally like the fairgrounds parking lot in Bloomington-Normal where everyone can bring their birds there at a certain date, certain time and the tester can come on that date and test everyone's birds accordingly. That way no one dont have to move birds around or even get exposed to other people's birds and he can pull tests from car to truck to trailer.

Would that work? I am sure if we have enough people with enough birds, it would work for us.

The problem about meeting a tester at like a parking lot or something is that they dont know if you brought your whole flock and if you have a big flock you might not be able to get everything there or it would take a long time. It would be nice if there were more NPIP flock testers that can certify a flock with NPIP.
