Illinois...

I forgot to mention in here that I saw a terrible chicken encounter in Chicago on Wednesday. A girl was walking her dog with the leash dragging (not holding it at all). The dog got into the front yard of a house where there were chickens. 3 or 4 chickens were running down the block and the dog had another in its mouth. I think the three dog got died. A lady came out and was very upset with the matter. The girl just walked away with her dog after a few minutes.
It was quite sad. I was in the middle of a side job so I couldn't do much. Her soon come past a but later and asked if we saw any chickens. They must have lost a few in the chaos.

Quite sad, but reminds me of the importance to keep our birds secure.
This sad story sounds much like the woman to whom I sold a young pullet this spring. She was in her front yard with her chickens and a truck drove by. A dog jumped out the window of the truck and quickly killed all but one of her chickens.

"A costumed interpreter "....... what costume will you wear lol.
Kline Creek Farm is a historical farm, so they dress in clothing styles from the 19th century.

As for me, I do have a "Crazy chicken lady" t-shirt and chicken hat. DD has a chicken Halloween costume. And of course, the chickens are frequently dressed up and/or dyed colors after one of the kids' spa days. I bet our costumes would be more memorable than a hoop skirt, don't you?
