Artificial insemination of livestock is expensive...mostly from an equipment standpoint, takes special refrigeration of the semen that is costly.
Then there's the price of the semen...which can also be costly to procure and ship.
You can hire a service to take care of all that, but that is going to include the above costs anyway on top of paying for their labor and expertise.

What is easier about all of that than letting a cock bird do the job naturally??
