Maybe they're just late bloomers...Or really good at hiding them..Lol
I found a beautiful very clean clutch of AC eggs in the back window of my hub's TR 7...Lol he had it in a carport and left a window down....lol
...And we will jump and shout and join you in the egg song!!!!!Oh no. I know every nook and cranny of my coops and runs. There is no hiding from me! When that first tiny, beautiful, yolkless soft-shelled egg finally arrives, I will spot it with my eagle eye and post it proudly for all you guys to see!! As proud--I'm sure--as if I had laid it myself, from my vet own cloaca, lol. I will sing the egg song, loudly and joyously, and then--and only then--after I have shared the miracle of ovulation with you all, will I call my husband and tell him the happy news! For he will never feel my joy like you all will, lol.

Hahahaha..Sort of...My girls will cackle and screech.... Depending on who's roo is hers, he will stand near by and sing with her. It's quite loud and I could listen to it all day!!!!Virtual egg song!!!! YEAHHHH!!! I am ashamed to say, I do not know what an egg song sounds like. But I kinda imagine it as yogic chickens all chanting "om" with lots of clucking.![]()
As to my fashion attire to the coop....okay, please note I have fenced property with trees, but I have been known in early morning to go out in my tee-shirt (knee-length) night gown, with slicker coat over it, and mud boots.
I think the paw prints on the night gown add a nice touch to the look.

Oh my this thread has taken off...with a lot of fun.
My Cream Legbar pullet, who is now 24 weeks old...or 6 months. NO EGGS.
She is fat and sassy. No squat. Nothing. Oh well, maybe by spring. She has some conjugal nights planned with my Barnevelder rooster when she finally has her act together. I need more olive eggers.

As to talking to your animals...all I can say is this...
My daughter heard me talking in the kitchen. She knew no one else was home, so she came into the kitchen to chide me for talking to myself.
I looked up and told her truthfully...I was talking to the dog.
"Oh," she responds, "that's okay then." We both were confident of my sanity.
Lol -- I wear my really short tee shirt nightie to the coop also, but don't usually bother with a robe unless it's cold and of course wearing my lime green fake crocs. Luckily, the only people driving by that can see me back there are those just coming down the hill. I don't care.

I have 2 EE girls and one is not laying yet. Today I found 3 brown eggs on top of a bale of straw I stuffed under the built in cages. I'd had it riding around in the back of my truck for months and needed to make room for a wheelchair. I noticed them snooping around there, but didn't think anything of it. I'm not even sure who laid them. I've put some sheets of plastic around the straw so hopefully there won't be anymore of that.

Do you have any pics of that clutch of eggs, Fields? That is too funny!
Hahaha!I've heard that could happen. I was in the coop one day and saw what I thought was an egg w/o the shell. I reached in and grabbed it -- a BIG turd. lol
