Layer feed? And more protein

Was thinking of switching them over, and probably will (although they do have free choice oyster shell). Because my babies are still young though--and they are a mixed flock-- I can't do it till the middle of next month.

I had a dream last night that I went out to the coop, and hidden under a pile of shavings in my next box, there it was...a perfect egg. I was so excited!

When I went out to my coops this morning, all there was was a GIGANTIC turd in my one nest box. I'm talking a banty-egg-sized turd. But still, no egg <sigh>.

Blueberry is sooo gorgeous! I'm so attracted to that color in a chicken. :love

Thanks, I think so too! She turned into a really sweet chicken, she was a scaredy-cat when she was little. Now she flies right up into my lap when I have mealworms. She's the only one out of my 14 that does that.

I love that blue color, too! I think next spring I may order some more blue chickens. I already have a bunch of chickens in my shopping cart on MPC, lol...my husband has NO idea. I need me some more blue chooks!!!!

I just got my first egg yesterday and all my girls are 32 weeks....once I stopped looking for eggs, they surprised me, my daughter found it lol

Wow that is a LONG time, I hope mine don't take that long.
Your daughter is so adorable, and she looks so thrilled!!!!:woot Yay for you!

I think they just see me as a food provider and if I'm not providing food, I AM food.[/QUOTE]

Yes! If I don't bring food, I am food! I love all the what I wear to the coop. My hubby hinted the other day that I could go through the garage to the coop, rather than through the front yard. I didn't ask if it was because of my attire or if he was being solicitous to protect me from the rain. I choose the latter explanation . . . My attire usually involves very, very worn yoga pants . . .and often a twelve year old Tigger sweatshirt . . .

Ok yall hang on to your socks. My trail camera outside my coop at my farm took my picture today. I was hoping to go hunting this afternoon, therefore the camo, but it was too warm. But i think the camo with the pink rubber boots could be a new fad. :lau :lau
