I'm planning to hatch chicks for sale for the first time soon.

Do you plan to ship hatching eggs? I liked the experience of hatching and raising them.

I have never sold hatching eggs before but I was looking in to that the other day. I know shipping the eggs can decrease hatchability to less than 50% though...

I'm always so delicate when I handle my hatching eggs and I even turn them a couple times a day while storing them in a cool dark place before I have enough to hatch. I can't imagine what shipping can do to them

Sorry for the late update. Sold 22 out of the 28 chicks within the first week and kept the last 6. They are doing great and I'll probably start transitioning them to the chick house in the coop outside next week so everybody can start getting used to each other. They are about 3 weeks old right now

What breeds are the ones with the head stripes and eyeliner? I have one that looks similar, but she came from a BYM of hatching eggs, so I don't know what she is.

Beilefelders and crested cream legbars she'd already had when she bought mine.

There are a lot of breeds that have that pattern as chicks though, and if it's a BYM there's no telling what they're going to look like until they're full grown.
