I'm scared

Probably a bit of both....feeling sorry for your losses AND having something up his sleeve.

After growing up on this place when it was a commercial chicken farm, he still says he hates chickens. But I've noticed him taking a liking to mine. Some days he even seems eager to help me feed and water. He still doesn't know the different breeds ('cept for the brahmas) and he only knows a few of their names. but I'll take what I can get.

My DH just knows the difference between the roos and hens. He only knows one name, and that's his favorite little roo (serama).
He does go out with me at dusk to put them to bed.
I lost half my flock (few years ago) to bobcats. He has never complained about the replacements. (almost double what we had before the attacks.) He's a keeper.

Chickens or not, they're good for replacing flock losses.

Not yet. But we're about to have a talk about new furniture. I'm sure before we can get halfway through the discussion the clone will *POOF* be gone.

Let me put it this way. DH's mother had the living room furniture we are using recovered in 1972 because it was worn out. The kitchen table consists of a top from his great grandparents place, the legs are from a set his grandparents had and the chairs are from a set his parents had. I won't even tell you about the bedroom set.
