Anyone remember having the circular scar on your upper arm from the smallpox vaccine( I believe it was smallpox and on the left arm)? Do you still have it? Mine vanished many years ago.

Yes it was smallpox. I was vaccinated against smallpox many times and so have several of those scars. Though some were on top of others.
My last smallpox vaccination was just about a year before it was declared to be eradicated.

I remember getting mine in 1951. I watched as the line went down and I could see the school nurse breaking the vials and then twist the broken glass end on the upper arms of my classmates. I hadn't notice but my scar is gone too.

My doctor did them on the leg, right calf at the top. Took me a while to find it, too! Faded so much.

They still do the TB tine test in schools... or at least when my 26 year old was in highechool.

I think the vaccine was ended in 65? 70??
