I never worried much about "coolness" when I was a kid. I didn't mind looking uncool, being uncool. I was one of the social outcasts, so there wasn't much I could do to raise my cool factor, no matter what I did.

Some people think I'm cool because I look tall and happen to know a lot about tech.

Other times they're shocked because I don't play video games despite having the hardware to.

I thought they were girls head bands. Duh! Musta been long after my time.

Mine are 1970-2000 era and then got largely replaced by the fabric bands with Velcro.
