My dad (b. 1928) went through that. When I started in school he would have none of that for me. When registering me for kindergarten, besides all the health checks, etc, when it came time for teacher and administrator introductions he made it very clear that his youngest was a southpaw and would remain one.I remember getting my hand smacked with a ruler if I got caught writing left handed in school. I'm still left handed though![]()
Only if you didn't have them adjusted right and they came loose from your Converses in which case you ended up on the pavement with scraped hands, torn jeans, and stones embedded in your knees. These look very uncomfortable
Say that to the families whose lives are forever changed by the careless disregard of invincible drunk and/or stoned drivers.Yup, they were still doing that when my daughters were in jr. and sr. high (early 2000s). The kids just rolled their eyes and my girls called it "a waste of time"(except for the drama students who acted in the "play" and got out of other classes for it). Just like the D.A.R.E. anti-drug program. As with my (60s) generation, the in-school programs went so hysterical and frankly lied about so much (pot does not equal heroin, thank you) that kids experimented anyway, trusting peers more than the adults in authority. As for the careless driving, didn't seem to make any difference.
I've eaten a ton of frog legs in my life, love em! I like them battered with hot sauce or ranch. To me the texture is spot on chicken breasts,, taste is light like alligator. To explain to someone yeah itsclose to chicken but it's it's own flavorNo, doesn't taste like chicken...frog legs taste like chicken.
He didn't do it right.![]()
In the mid-nineties I drove from beautiful upstate NY to majestic front range CO for $52.I remember when I got my Saturn. I could fill it with a 10 dollar bill...and get change back!
We've got both of those still here where I live along with a billiard lounge. Had a bowling alley, too, until one particularly bad tornado wiped it down to the cement slab after which they decided not to rebuild.I remember skating rinks. And, Drive Ins.

Aww, now you got my eyes misty with that, I'ma need to go listen to Teddy Bear as well. The tears'll really start rollin then.Remember some of the AM stations at night would boost their signal. Ours was "Charlie Douglas -- Road Gang" on 870 WWL. He catered to over the road truckers and gave traffic warnings, weather reports for the whole country. He played the old timey Country Music.
Remember this one.
MmmmBut it was 25% booze...
