I now use screws for my fencing - the boards hold better and no thumbs involvedOnce you hit it the first time, thereafter you are watching your thumb to make sure you don't hit it again which in turn makes it become the target.

Also no tendinitis from hammering.
I remember when there were no cordless saws and drills, I cut many a fence board with a hand saw - gawd


When the cordless drills came out it was a game changer for my tinkering in the barn, and then the cordless saws came out - well holy Dinah I was in my glory. Now they even have cordless chainsaws!!! Oh and don’t forget those reciprocating saws - I call mine The Beast.
I am enjoying modern times! Wish I had these tools 40 years ago!
