I'm so old I Remember when:

Back in the late 1960s, there were still people living in tar paper shacks in West Virginia. No insulation and the boards were covered on the outside with tar paper.
On the Mohawk reservation that straddles the NY Canada border, I've seen walls plastered with newspaper to try and keep the winter storms at Bay. This would've been no more than 30 years ago last time I visited.

I remember the Chamber Pot in my grandparents bedroom. My grandmother was bed ridden with spinal arthritis.
I remember the chamber pots at my grandmother’s house.
I remember the excitement when she got indoor plumbing upstairs (a bathroom). But the outside toilet remained for a long time as the main toilet.

I remember a news story once where someone was selling "solar clothes dryers".
I didn't see their ad so idk how misleading it was but people thought they'd get a solar powered dryer machine.
Instead they'd get a box with a piece of rope in it. They were suing for false advertisement which he said wasn't true because they got a solar clothes dryer.

I need some money. I guess I should try that. I'm sure someone would buy my $5 clothesline for $20. Mmm, money *rubs hands with greed*. Oh wait, that's grease I used. I suppose the money will slip out of my hands...
