My mom liked either peaches or mandarin oranges on her cottage cheese. I always liked mine plain.

So far I've liked it any way it was used.
I've had it numerous ways being I had ten sisters and they all like using cottage cheese in their baking, cooking and dessert making.

I'm so old I remember growing up, when my mom would serve us cottage cheese on top of a large lettuce leaf with peaches on top. It was such a special dessert for us, we felt rich and fancy eating it

My friend’s mother gave us that when we came in from school. Canned peaches or canned mandarin segments.
To this day I have a weakness for canned mandarin segments!
On top of lettuce and cottage cheese, or in an orange jello.

I'll pass on the broiled grapefruit. I much preferred to pull one from the backyard tree we had and peeled the outer yellow layer down about half way from the blossom end. Then I cut a conical hole into it and sprinkled in some salt and with a few good squeezes I had drank really fresh grapefruit juice. We had 2 trees that were known as Duncan. They were huge and full of seed but the flavor was second to none. Spitting seed all over the backyard was not a problem.
